BodyTite is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure performed by a cosmetic surgeon and used to create more definition and reduce the laxity of your skin. It is a gentler form of liposuction that is assisted by radio frequency (RFAL) and can get rid of unattractive fat deposits while also tightening areas of loose skin during the same procedure.
It shapes the targeted areas, contracting the skin and providing both lift and tone to deliver a more youthful appearance without a scalpel or large areas of visible scarring left behind. You are left with noticeable results without the risks associated with traditional liposuction. Like any cosmetic liposuction procedure, BodyTite is not risk-free.The American Society of Plastic Surgeons reports that side effects and complications may still occur, including thermal burns, skin irregularities, temporary or prolonged nerve sensitivity changes (hyperesthesia/numbness), seromas, or localized fat necrosis.

How Does BodyTite Work?
The BodyTite treatment uses a technique called RFAL (radio frequency assisted liposuction), which means it breaks down fat cells by heating them up and liquefying them. A handheld wand-like device is used to send radiofrequency energy into the layers of your skin to loosen up the unwanted fat cells and tighten the surrounding tissues.

Procedure Steps
Dr. Angelina may give you a list of certain products and supplements to avoid in the weeks leading up to your BodyTite procedure. You will need to disclose any type of medication or supplements you are using during your consultation, so the doctor can provide you with guidance about whether to discontinue their use to prepare for your procedure. You may be asked to discontinue the use of blood thinners, medications that contain ibuprofen or aspirin, or herbal supplements to help reduce your chances of experiencing extensive swelling and bruising. Also, you will receive instructions on fasting before your procedure to ensure your safety while under anesthesia.
Depending on the area of the body treated, your session may take anywhere between 15 minutes and two hours.
The treatment area is numbed using a special gel before a BodyTite procedure, which also typically involves the administration of local anesthesia. However, based on the particulars of your procedure, general or twilight anesthesia may be suggested.
Dr. Angelina will create tiny incisions in the targeted treatment areas using strategic and discreet locations to minimize any visual scarring.
A thin metal probe that is part of the handheld instrument used during the treatment is fed through the incision and under the skin to begin working its magic in conjunction with the upper portion of the wand as it is passed over the skin directly above.
The probe sends out RF energy heat that simultaneously melts excess fat while transmitting energy to the electrode that is above the surface of the skin to effectively heat the surrounding tissues to stimulate collagen production. This process melts this fat, suctioning it away and tightening the layers of collagen at the same time.
After the procedure is completed, the incision(s) may be closed with tiny dissolvable sutures if needed, but often no sutures are required.
You will not be allowed to drive right after your procedure, so you will need an adult to drive you home and possibly stay with you for as long as you need them. You will not be able to drive until you are no longer taking any pain medication and the doctor clears you.

Recovery

You will need to wear special compression garments as directed by Dr. Angelina to help keep the areas that were treated stable as they heal and to help cut down on bruising and swelling.
You will be provided with contact information and a detailed list of symptoms and side effects that are normal and warning signs that mean you should call the doctor right away or call 911.
Results
You may see some results immediately after your BodyTite treatment with more sculpted and toned looking contours and smoother, tighter skin. It can take up to six months or more to see your complete results as the swelling goes down and new collagen and elastin form.
